Our Policies
Our Policies & Objectives:
Our objective is to produce quality dogs without any genetic problems. We always have the betterment of the breed in mind. Therefore we have our dogs tested for genetic disorders and if they don't pass then they are no longer part of the breeding plans. We feel that we are responsible for any puppies that we produce and that includes after they leave here to go to their new families. That is the reason that we guarantee our puppies against any crippling genetic disorders. We only breed maybe 2 litters a year. Some
times we even miss a couple of years between litters.
Our Guarantee:
If in the first 2 yrs. a veterinarian does x-rays and it is proven that the puppy has bad hips or any other crippling genetic condition we will take the puppy back and replace him or her with another puppy of a different breeding as soon as one becomes available. If you would like to keep the dog that is affected, we could work out an agreement suitable to both parties to allow this to be. We want our puppies to be happy with their adoptive families as much as we want the families to be happy with their new puppy. We offer lifetime support as long as you have your dog. If you have any questions or need advice, you are welcome to call or email. We are more than happy to help with anything that may concern you about your puppy or adult dog. One thing I can not guarantee is the full adult size of the dog. Some dogs will go over the 15" and nothing can be done about that. We can only make an educated guess when they are young puppies.
Our employees:
Employee's, well we don't have any. It is just my husband and myself. We enjoy our lives with our 9-12 mini poodles (depending who is coming and who is going), 1 miniature American Eskimo, 3 horses, 2 cats, an African Grey Parrot. Then of course we can't forget Jade.
My husband and I have been together since 1991. We are in our 50's (mid -50's) and the kids -28 yrs. and 38yrs.- have long moved out to start families of their own. So our furry and feathered friends are very much our our family now. The animals are in no way "my whole life"but they do make my life whole.
We have 3 grandchildren our daughter and her husband in Ontario, I get to see them once a year for a couple of weeks in the fall. Then our other daughter lives with her fiancee in the Vancouver area. See them a little more often when we are lucky. The daughter in Vancouver is now expecting Twins!!! Whoopee!!!
My husband works as a care-aide in a retirement home and I have been a pet groomer for over 30 years. I began grooming when I adopted my first pet miniature poodle "Checko". I owe a lot to the miniature poodle.
We are located in central British Columbia also known as the beautiful Cariboo Region. Lone Butte is about 10 minutes from 100 Mile House, 5 hours from Vancouver, 5 hours to Prince George, and 2 hours from Kamloops.
Bloodlines:
We are not a show kennel because we are not able to travel far from home.
We have been lucky enough to have Barons breeder show him to his championship and also lucky enough to be offered a beautiful American Champion from DeRay's & Firelake from Indiana. Then we have just bought a new brown Champion male from Texas. We would like to have them shown here to see what they can do in Canada. Showing can be very expensive when hiring a professional handler. Only time will tell if we will go down that road.
I would love to have the confidence in myself to show my own dogs, but I am very shy, believe it or not.
Our dogs are from very good lines. None of them are outside the breed standard, and we believe that quality isn't just for show dogs.
We produce quality puppies from champion bloodlines. Some of the lines we carry are: Bonvivant, Pampers, Surrey, Lormatt, VIP, Gallery, Sanvar, Glintondale, Kasalland, Sigma Chi, DeRay's, Firelake, Makay, Pravers, Midnight etc....

This is Willow our African
Grey Parrot. He is a real character and loves to keep us laughing.
Hatched Jan 1st, 1996.
This is Yoshi. Full of attitude. She was
my daughters cat until she moved out. Yoshi was born in 1996
Mr. Tibbs is our mouser, Neil's cat.
Originally got for Grandaughter but then they moved away. So here he stayed. Born in 2000

This is Mr. Beau Jangles , our little Miniature American Eskimo. He is a real sweet heart. Loves all the attention he can get..
This is Reba. We bred her mother Shadow Royal (Thoroughbred) to a paint stud. So Reba is the"paint that aint".
We lost her mom a couple of years ago at 33yrs. Reba was born in 1996 . I just started riding her quite a bit this year, and she is turning out very nice. Isn't even having too many problems with weird looking animals like Alpacas. She is a beautiful horse. Nope not selling her.
These are our geldings Sterling and Rawhide. Sterling is a 1/4 horse X, a very sweet old guy. He was given to us last year because otherwise they would be putting him down. Wouldn't hurt anyone but there isn't a comfortable trot on that horse anywhere. 25 yrs. old?????
Rawhide is a 1/4 horse X Percheron. He is a very strong boy and I really enjoy him this year. Last year was a different story. I spent some time on him but lots of time looking up at him laying on the ground. He has turned out and I guess he will be staying here awhile. 17- 21yrs old?

These are the resident moose that keep eating our hay. Notice our attempt at protecting our hay? They still managed to get their feed. They even invited 3 more moose to join in. So one morning I caught 5 moose out there eating our hay without any batteries for my camera. Anyone know of a way of scaring moose away?
Sprinkling wolf pee all over the area, in the trees, on the tarp we put on the hay, it does not work. Thought of a paint ball gun, but then all the moose in the country would be covered in paint. And with my luck, I would shoot out the windows on my truck.
Think we figured it out. My Dad is helping me put up a very high fence of barbed wire, I think it just might work!!! Nope didn't work, but my son-in-law came out from Ontario over Christmas holidays and built me a big box. So far, no sign of moose around the box or in the field (knock wood) I won't hold my breath, but I am praying.
Thank you Edward, it worked!!! Other than me hitting it with my truck a couple of
times the moose were unable to penetrate the magnificent structure!!!
Thought I should add a shot of us so you know who we are.
I am Dale and this is my husband Neil. He is the one that has supported me and put up with me with my hobby if raising beautiful Miniature Poodles. I guess it helps that he doesn't live with us. He works in Fort St John and comes home every 3 months to make sure I am still here I guess...

A jumble of cat and dogs cuddling on the big chair on a cold winter night.(big cat)

This is where our other babies get to shine.

Jade is back home with us again. Found her a wonderful home, and the people loved her very much. But sadly Jade proved too much to handle, being over protective of them. So I went and got her and brought her back home. I guess she is home to stay. It broke my heart to let her go the first time. Don't think I could do it again.
I must add, I do feel much safer with her home again.
